However, she realized her true passion was acting and decided to pursue a career in the performing arts. After some time, Barraza moved to Mexico City where she worked in theater as an actress and director. She was involved in over two dozen productions and also worked on television, including the popular series "Mujer, Casos de la Vida Real" Women, Real Life Caseswhich dealt with real-life stories of topics such as rape and domestic violence.

Barraza directed many episodes of the show and worked on it for eight years. The father of her daughter is not known, as he abandoned her.
